Waterfall El Nicho
Cienfuegos was founded in 1819 and is now the 6th biggest in Cuba. Located at the Bahía de Cienfuegos, at the south coast of Cuba, the port of Cienfuegos was the biggest for the export of suger worldwide. Beside the sugar industry, the crab and tobacco industry were important for the city.
About 50 km from Cienfuegos you can find the breathtaking waterfall "El Nicho". The excursion to this waterfall is full of nature highlights. Shortly after your departure in Cienfuegos you reach the foothills of the Sierra del Escambray. Here you can find the Hanabanilla river meandering itself through the lush green surroundings until it crushes down into a turquoise green pool.
