La Paz - Custom Package
What to expect...
Welcome to La Paz! Here you'll feel highs and lows in their literal sense as throughout this city, there is a difference in 1000 m of altitude from its highest to lowest point. La Paz is also a great cultural center as there is a great mix of old and new. The indigenous people to this region still maintain a traditional Andean culture from Incan roots, while coexisting with newer immigrants from Spain and other parts of Europe. You'll see the stunning juxtaposition through the architecture as well as the colonial streets are home to modern skyscrapers as well as traditional stalls and boutiques. Get infected by the lively atmosphere as you explore La Paz!

Itinerary
Enjoy the view from the world's highest airport, located over 4000 metres above sea level! Spot the basin and city center before meeting a SC Travel employee who will accompany you there, to your accommodation. After checking in, you can spend the day as you please. Feel free to rest, but be sure to get out and explore the town as well. There's so much waiting to be discovered. We recommend a stroll along Sagárnaga, a popular street in La Paz, lined-full with shops, cafes and restaurants. Also nearby is the Witches Market, another popular spot to see. Experience many 'supernatural' Andean customs originating from the Incan era. And of course, don't miss all the landmarks: the cathedral, government palace, national congress and more. 3* Hotel
Embark on a journey of mystery and ruins! Today you'll explore the ancient grounds of Tiahuanaco, about 70 kilometers from La Paz. Its origins still remain an enigma with so many circulating hypotheses. These ruins are one of the most important archaeological treasures of Bolivia as they are the oldest remainds of the Andean cultures, making this a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our first destination after a 90 minute ride is the "Museo Regional de Tiwanaku" with an impressive collection of archaeological stones, ceramic pieces and human bones. Hopefully this has sparked some curiousity in you, because you will be visiting an archaological site directly after with your guide. Immerse yourself with the history of this village, dated between 2000-1500 BC. Admire the mighty temples and buildings, such as the world famous Sun Gate. Enjoy a typical lunch of the region before returning back to the hotel in La Paz. 3* Hotel Breakfast & Lunch
Today you'll leave La Paz, though we would be happy to arrange for you to extend your stay. Feel free to take advantage of our Optional Offers and see more of this beautiful city.
