Arequipa Mini Trip
Arequipa is often referred to as "La ciudad blanca," meaning 'the white city' because it is entirely built out of a white stone, sillar. Seated at the feet of three large volcanoes - the Misti (5.821m), the Nevado Chachani (6,075 m) and the Nevado Picchu Picchu (5.664m) - you can often feel shakes and rumbles beneath your feet. Because of its mild and sunny climate with more than 300 sunny days a year, Arequipa is also known as the city of eternal spring. This city traces back 8,000 to 10,000 years ago and Incas once ruled for 300 years. Some of the buildings were even built upon the existing Incan ones. And for those who enjoy architecture, Gustave Eiffel designed the roof of the traditional market, San Camilo.
After arriving at your hotel, you'll have the evening at your disposal. Bear in mind that Arequipa is located at 2,353m above sea level, so your body may need time to adjust. That being said, we still do recommend strolling through the streets and already getting a feel for the city.
Casona Plaza Hotel* (Classic) / Hotel Tierra Viva* (Comfort)

At the end of the tour, you'll go to Yanahuara to the famous square and marvel at the Sillar arches and views of the city. After the city tour you will return to your hotel.
