Adventurous Thailand Group Tour Itinerary
Our Adventurous Thailand tour combines visits to the cultural highlights of Bangkok, Sukhothai, and Chiang Mai, with a relaxing stay on the beach in Hua Hin. You'll start in the capital city and head on to Sukhothai, then Chiang Mai. Finally you'll recharge by the sea in Hua Hin.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Bangkok
Welcome to Thailand! Once you've arrived you can check into your hotel right away, meet your guide, and start getting to know the city. Bangkok is a lively city that never sleeps. Here you'll find vibrant markets where you can sample local foods and shop for souvenirs, hundreds of beautiful temples, and many bars, clubs, and restaurants!

Day 2: Bangkok
Today you should definitely visit the Royal Palace and Wat Phra Kaeo, where the Emerald Buddha is located. Behind the large golden Chedi you can find a model of Angkor Wat. Other must-see temples include Wat Pho - the temple of the Reclining Buddha, Wat Arun, and Wat Saket. The best ways to get around the city are the Skytrain, boats, and Tuk Tuks.

Day 3: Bangkok – Damnoen Saduak – Kanchanaburi
In the morning you'll drive to Damnoen Saduak where you'll visit the floating market. Here you can take a boat through the many channels to visit the stalls set up along the banks. This a great place to buy souvenirs and try local fruits and vegetables – many of which are likely to be new to you! Then we'll take you to enchanting Kanchanaburi. Here you can take a ride on the infamous Thailand - Burma Railway. This rail line crosses the famous bridge over the River Kwai from which you can see (and stay) at the "Floatel".

Day 4: Kanchanaburi – Sukhothai
Your tour leads you to Sukhothai, considered the birthplace of Thai culture. At the beginning of the journey you'll stop and visit the War Museum and the War Cemetery in Kanchanaburi. In the afternoon you'll arrive in Sukhothai where you can spend the rest of the day as you wish, relaxing at the hotel or taking a stroll.

Day 5: Sukhothai
Your guide will now take you on a bike ride through the old part of Sukhothai. It's here that we find the early roots of Theravada Buddhism, the Thai alphabet, and many other significant elements that remain part of Thai culture today. In the centre of the city there's an impressive park with many trees. You may also wish to visit the temple ruins inside and outside the city walls.

Day 6: Sukhothai – Chiang Mai
Today we'll continue to Chiang Mai. This city is located in northern Thailand, between river valleys and mountains. The town is small but has many beautiful temples. We recommend that you start exploring by taking a walk through the old town, which is still surrounded by the remains of the old city wall. You'll surely discover something new around every corner. In the evening we recommend visiting the famous night market.

Day 7: Chiang Mai (optional hike)
Today you can either go on an optional hike or spend the day exploring Chiang Mai. Some particularly worthwhile attractions include Wat Jet Yot and Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep. If you want to do something else you can also take a cooking class or ride the "Flight of the Gibbon" Zipline. If you choose to participate in the optional hike, we'll leave in the morning.

Day 8: Chiang Mai (optional hike)
If you don't participate in the optional hike, then you'll have an extra day in Chiang Mai. There's plenty to do here, including taking a trip to the Doi Suthep - Pui National Park where you can visit the gardens of Bhuping Palace. You can also rent a bike and cycle around the city, enjoy a Thai massage, or take a historic boat tour.

Day 9: Chiang Mai – Bangkok
We'll spend the morning in Chiang Mai. If you haven’t already visited them then this is a great time to visit Wat Ku Tao, built in the Burmese style, or the 14th century Wat Suan Dok. In the afternoon we'll take you to the station where you'll board the night train back to Bangkok. The trip takes about 13 hours.

Day 10: Bangkok – Koh Samet
Once you've arrived in Bangkok you'll drive about 200km to Ban'Phe. Most locals who live there are fishermen, which is why you can find a lot of fish and crabs for sale along the coastal road. You take a boat to Koh Samet, one of the most beautiful islands of Thailand.

Day 11: Koh Samet
The island Koh Samet ist only 6 kilometers long and 3 kilometers wide. Plenty of idyllic bays with turquoise waters and white sandy beaches dominate the scenery. Together with four other islands Koh Samet forms a national park. You can find great diving spots and a lot of options for nightlife. Enjoy the days in the sun.

Day 12: Koh Samet
Enjoy the last days on the beaches of Koh Samet. If you like doing sports, you can go windsurfing or snorkeling. Also you can take a walk along one of the scenic beaches or through the green vegetation.

Day 13: Koh Samet - Bangkok
In the morning we'll drive you back to Bangkok. If you want to extend your stay then our friendly staff are more than happy to assist. We can also drive you to the airport (optional transfer). We wish you a safe journey home.

Travel Information
Your route will take you to the stunning city of Bangkok and then to Kanchanaburi, where you can learn about Thailand’s fascinating history and admire some beautiful local architecture. We'll then travel to the enchanting city of Sukhothai, compelling Chiang Mai, and finally Hua Hin, where you can spend a few days relaxing on the beach.
We recommend that you read this information carefully before booking or departure. Here you will find important information about Laos. Be aware that you may need to get some vaccinations in advance. This trip includes several excursions, but there is also allocated time for optional activities. Let one of our friendly tour guides help you book any additional adventures.

Additional Information:
- Single travellers will share a room with another single traveller of the same sex (if possible).
- In Floatel you'll be staying in floating bamboo houses which have no electricity. Dinner is included.
- If you opt for the optional hike you'll walk through villages around Chiang Mai and stay in simple accommodation.
- Sleeping bags and backpacks can be rented locally so you don't necessarily have to bring your own. The rest of your luggage will be stored at your hotel in Chiang Mai. If less than 5 participants from your tour group book the walk then you may be hiking with travellers from another group. The itinerary can be customized depending on the season.
- Included: English-speaking guide/chef, Admission to Huay Nam Dang National Park, 1 breakfast, 2 lunches, 1 dinner, Transfer by pick-up truck, basic accommodation, Trip on a bamboo raft (about 2 hours).

The price for all Adventurous Thailand tours in the 2018 season is $1,457.00 CAD p.p. in a double room. For travelers wishing to have a private room, a single-room supplement of $569.00 CAD p.p. will be charged.
