From here, it's not far to Santiago to Cuba. You'll first arrive at the Plaza de la Revolucion, a square dedicated to Antonio Maceo Grajales and used for majoy events. Afterward, you'll head to the Cemeterio Santa Ifigenia Cemetery, where many soldiers from the Cuban Revolution and independence wars are buried. Just outside the city, right on the coast, is the Castillo de la Roca, also known as Castillo del Morro. Explore the fortress that was built in the 17th century which protected the city against pirate raids before you taking a break for lunch. Then, stroll through the old town and admire the many colonial houses and cathedral at the Paré Céspedes. History buffs will be excited for the next stop: the Moncada barracks, used during the Cuban revolution.
