Zipaquirá Salt Cathedral
The former salt production center of the Muisca Indians is located a few kilometers north of Bogotá. Deep into the mountain it goes when you visit the salt mashine. But here you will find something amazing: a three-aisled cathedral. With a length of 120 m and an area of 8500 m², this underground church is impressive. The main vessel offers up to 900 seats. Here you can find crosses, angels and Madonnas made of salt stone and the 14 stations of the crossroads can also be walked under the ground.
