Itinerary

Welcome to Mexico! You will arrive at the Mexico-City International Airport where we can pick you up for your transfer to the hotel (optional). Afterwards you have time to take a walk in your new surroundings. Unterkunft im   Hotel in Mexico-City, 4* Standard

Today at 8:00 am, you will meet your guide. The first activity will be a guided bike tour through the fascinating metropolis of Mexico-City. During the tour, you can have a look at the public garden Alameda Central and drive along the Avenida de la Reforma, which is the main street of the city. Other impressive places are the Palacio de Bellas Artes and the monument of independence, "El Angel". The rest of the day, you can spend as you wish.

In the morning, you will leave Mexico-City and start your way to Teotihuacán. These pre-historical ruins are one of the most meaningful in America. A guide will answer all your questions about ancient cultures and all the magnificent buildings they left behind. After the tour, you take the public bus to Puebla de los Ángeles. This beautiful colonial town is located in the Cuetlaxcoapan-Valley, very close to Mexico's highest volcano, the Popocatepetl. The city is part of the UNESCO world heritage and unites the ancient and modern Mexico. During a guided city tour, you discover the streets with all its colorful houses and traditional ceramic workplaces. In the afternoon, your journey continues to Oaxaca by public transport.

Today you visit the archaeological excavation of Monte Albán by public transport. The past capital of the Zapotecs is part of the UNESCO world heritage as well. Admire the buildings, gravesites and mural paintings from the 8th century B.C. You also have a fantastic view over the landscapes of Oaxaca.

After breakfast, you go to San Cristóbal de las Casas in the region Chiapas. You spend almost the whole day in the vehicle but with all the marvelous landscapes around you, it is not going to be boring. In the evening, you arrive to your hotel in San Cristóbal. In the morning, you get to know the beautiful colonial city during a guided city tour. The "magical city" is a fantastic combination of modern times, relicts of the colonial time and traditions of indigenous cultures. In the afternoon, you will go on an excursion to the indigenous villages of San Juan Chamula and Zinacatán. If you are lucky, you can can observe a traditional ceremony in the church of San Juan. This day will lead you from San Cristóbal to Palenque. On the way, you take a break at the waterfalls Agua Azul and Misol Ha. The impressive cascades of Agua Azul, consisting of hundreds of small and big waterfalls, extend over more than five kilometers. Misol Ha impresses you with its  hight of 30m. After breakfast, you visit the ruins of Palenque, where you can admire the marvelous architecture of the Mayas. The famous sight is located only a few kilometers from the town of Palenque. You are leaving Palenque to go to Campeche. Explore the coastal city with all its fortifications, which were used as protection from pirates in the 19th century. You will learn more about the history of this city during a guided tour.

In the morning, you continue your journey to beautiful Mérida. On the way you will stop at the Maya site Uxmal. You also have the opportunity to take a bath in the Cenote San Antonio Mulix.

Mérida is the capital of the famous region Yucatán. During a city tour, you visit the most important sights of the city. Mérida was built on the ruins of an ancient Mayan city. Today it's mostly recognized and known for its Spanish history. At noon, you will dive into all the secrets of the Mexican food by taking part in a cooking course. The first part of the day will lead you to "the yellow city" Izamal. During a city tour, you can visit the convent of San Antonio de Padua. Afterwards you continue to the famous Maya ruins of Chichén Itzá. You can explore the ancient site with a local guide.
