A Taste of Costa Rica Group Tour Itinerary
This tour departs from the dynamic city of San José and continues on to some of the most fantastic sites in the country. On this tour you will discover Costa Rica’s remarkable natural and cultural diversity for yourself.
Visit the captivating Monteverde Cloud Forest, the paradisiacal beaches in Manuel Antonio National Park and the rugged Arenal Volcano region.

Welcome to Costa Rica! Today you will arrive in the capital city of San José. There are no activities planned for the first day so we recommend taking a bit of time to settle into your hotel and explore the city. Much of the architecture found here is reminiscent of the elaborate 19th and 20th century architecture found in Spain. The colorful and lively streets are always interesting. You will undoubtedly feel the enthusiasm of the local people as you discover San José for yourself! Take a walk, relax in a beautiful park or visit one of the numerous exciting museums. We can pick you up at the airport and take you to your accommodation.

La Fortuna de San Carlos is one of the main tourist destinations in Costa Rica and Central America. Here you can visit the Arenal Volcano which is the only active volcano in Costa Rica and still glows at night. Participate in many other wilderness adventure activities! Your guide will help you pick the activities that are right for you and book them in advance!

La Fortuna is a great place for outdoor adventure. Visit the Caño Negro Wildlife Reserve, hike to the Arenal Volcano, take a fascinating tour of the rainforest canopy or try more exhilarating physical acitivities like rappelling and whitewater rafting! These are only a few of the great things you can do while you explore this beautiful natural area. (Activities not included)
Hotel San Bosco Breakfast
After a boat tour on Lake Arenal the journey will take you past many picturesque landscapes before you arrive at one of the most beautifulplaces, the Monteverde Cloud Forest Nature Reserve. This spectacular natural area is home to so many unique plants and animals that you can definitely expect to see a creature you have never seen before! In the afternoon you have the possibility to visit a local farm and the family that lives here. Walk your way through coffee, banana and sugar cane plantations, try some tasty tropical fruits and nuts right off the tree (optional).
Hotel Claro de Luna Breakfast
Today you will visit the Bosque Eterno de los Niños (The eternal forest of children), the biggest pirvate nature reserve in Costa Rica. It was founded in the 80s with the help of pupils of a Swedish primary school that had started a fund-raising campaign. This reserve is the last retreat for jaguars. Well, you don't have to be afraid: these shy animals will most likely not cross your path while you're walking through the forest. Instead you can see exotic birds like the Motmot, the emerald toucanet or maybe manakins. The afternoon is at to your disposal.
Hotel Claro de Luna Breakfast
After breakfast we will leave Monteverde and head for Quepos! This charming harbor town is one of the most famous locations for big-game sport fishing. After so much time in the rainforest Quepos is the perfect place to experience city-life. There is an active nightlife, plenty of shops and restaurants, art galleries, as well as fun outdoor activities. You will be arriving in Quepos around noon and go straight to a 4 hour catamaran ride. You will visit the islands of Olocuita and Isla Verde where you can possibly see dolphins and other sea creatures. Stopping at the beach Biesanz you can take a swim in the ocean and discover acuatic life snorkelling. A typical Costa Rican dinner awaits you before getting back to Quepos.
Hotel Mimos Breakfast, Dinner
Manuel Antonio National Park is the most popular national park in the entire country. Here you will find 4 of the most picturesque sandy beaches in the Pacific as well as lush stands of mangroves. Just beyond the calm, coastal area, is the mysterious rainforest, home to rare animals as the squirrel monkeys or capuchins, racoons, coatis and many others. You will go on a nature walk through the park and enjoy the incredible view.
Hotel Mimos Breakfast
San Gerardo de Dota is the next stop in your itinerary. It is a picturesque village surrounded by mountains and forests. You take a tour through the village and fields to see how different fruits are grown ecologically. Local farmes explain all about how they keep natural ressources and minimize pacts on the nature. You also get the chance to try some of their produce. In the evening you enjoy a typical meal.
Posada Rural Sueños del Bosque Breakfast, Dinner
The mystical bird Quetzal lives in the humid cloud forest in Central America. The Maya whorshipped this bird which is nowadays threatened by extinction and difficult to spot in his natural habitat. If you get up early you may be lucky to see one of those specimen. After visiting the view point Mirador de Quetzales and hiking through the National Park you will get on the bus and head towards San José. You will stop at the Jardin Ecologico Los Navarro and enjoy lunch in nature. Before getting to San José we will take you to Cartago for a walking tour in this lovely colonial town.

It’s your last day in the tropical paradise of Costa Rica. Discover the delicious local foods, do some last minute souvenir shopping, and really appreciate the liveliness of a South American urban center.
