Similar to our other trip to Mérida & Ruta Puuc, on this trip you'll get to combine a visit to "The White City" of Mérida along with a day trip to Mayan ruins. Known for its white colonial buildings, Mérida is a large financial capital of the state of Yucatan and the largest city as well. First you'll be able to experience the myriad of things to do in Mérida, from museums, restaurants, bars and shops before heading off to the ruins in Chichén Itzá on your third day. The sacred archaological site at Chichén Itzá is one of the greatest in the area. Be in awe at the towering temple ruins that you're sure to recognize, as this UNESCO World Heritage location is one of the most famous Mayan sites. Marvel at the architecture of the pyramidical temple and its stairs and enjoy this Mini Trip full of culture and history.

Itinerary

Today you'll arrive in Merida and in the afternoon, take a city tour. On the tour you'll explore the colonial city center, the Plaza de la Independencia, where you'll see the Cathedral and the Palacio Municipal. We also recommend visiting one of the museums, to get to know the history and culture of the city even better.     Daytrip to Cenotes and Haciendas

    Take a trip to the past on this fun optional offer! You'll visit two haciendas where the production and export of sisal, a Mexican agave used for fibres, began. You'll also go to a couple of cenotes, a natural limestone pit full of turquoise water, and take a dip. You'll enjoy typical cuisine for lunch at Hacienda Ochil before returning back to your accommodation.
